Terms of Business Liability: Reservations will be confirmed on receipt of a deposit of 45% of the daily rate total. Likewise, dates offered for any safari are not held without receipt of a deposit. The balance of the safari cost is payable 60 days prior to the commencement of the safari.
Although every possible care is taken to safeguard you and your property, the company accepts no responsibility for any accident, injury, or illness incurred during or arising from any safari, or loss to client's property during the safari. We strongly advise you to take out insurance for yourself and your property before the start of the safari. We make no guarantee of animals to be hunted, nor accept any responsibility for weather conditions affecting the safari or delays arisingfrom accidental breakage or damage to vehicles or equipment.
Cancellation Policy: Deposits are refunded only if cancellation is received in writing at least nine months prior to the scheduled starting date, less any costs the company may have incurred.
Safari Fees Include:
- The service of a Professional Hunter(s) specified in the quotation and the safari crew including cook, mess steward, trackers, gun bearers, skinners, and general assistants.
- Transport - one hunting vehicle per Professional Hunter and load carrying vehicles for transporting equipment and crew to and from the hunting areas.
- Full tentage including insect and snake-proof sleeping tents, toilet and shower tents, mess tent, and cook and staff tents.
- Full camp equipment including spring beds with foam rubber mattresses, kerosene lighting, mess and kitchen equipment, utensils, refrigerator, and freezer.
- Fresh and canned foods of the best quality available, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Special requirements catered for as far as possible.
- Medicine chest including snake-bite serum and malaria tablets.
- Skinning and preservation of trophies in the field.
- A company representative to assist you on arrival and departure.
- The use of a high frequency two-way radio.
Safari Fees Do Not Include:
- Government trophy fees (See Trophy Fees).
- The cost of alcoholic drinks, beer, and tobacco.
- Air charter to and from the hunting areas and commercial travel to and from Tanzania.
- Hotel accommodation before and after the safari.
- The cost of transporting equipment and personnel to places beyond our concessions for specific purposes as requested.
- Gratuities to staff and Professional Hunters.
- Air freight of trophies from Tanzania to final destination.
- Tourist temporary firearms import duty and license @ US $250.00 per gun.
- Telexes, faxes, or phone calls made on behalf of the clients.
Firearms: The use of automatic weapons is strictly prohibited, definition of automatic weapons being those that fire more than one round with a single pressure on the trigger. There is also a caliber restriction for use on Elephant, Lion, and Buffalo, of no less than .375 Magnum and a bore limitation of no less than .240 , for general game hunting. Hand guns are not allowed.
Your Safari: Luke Samaras Safaris Ltd., keeps a well stocked medicine box in the main camp, including snake-bite serum and anti-malaria tablets. Each hunting car also carries a first aid box. Malaria is prevalent in Tanzania and all clients are advised to seek medical opinion prior to their safari to obtain malaria prophylactic tablets which should be taken a week before you start your safari and continued for four weeks after you leave Tanzania. The Tanzanian Government also requires a valid verification certificate for yellow fever for entry into the country. We also advise that you consult your physician as to other vaccinations that you may require and to bring with you any particular medicines that you may need during your safari.
Lightweight but protective clothing is recommended, green of khaki being the most suitable colors. Trousers or shorts are usually worn with a loose fitting shirt. Comfortable footwear is essential (something similar to desert boots), as are a wide brimmed hat and sun glasses, also a wool sweater or jacket for the evening and early mornings. Clients might like to bring a change of clothes for evening in the camp. However, we do not recommend that luggage be kept to a minimum if a charter flight is necessary due to the weight restrictions on the light aircraft.
Please Note: While clients are guaranteed one of each species relevant to the safaris that they have booked, the multiple animals of certain species that are allowed on these safaris are subject to quota availability.
Hunting of Lion, Leopard and Greater Antelopes: Two cats may only be hunted on a 21 day safari and under the following conditions as per Tanzanian Wildlife Regulations.
- 1X1 Safari: Client may hunt one Lion and one Leopard.
- 2X1 Safari: Clients must share one Lion and one Leopard.
- 2X2 Safari: Clients will hunt one Lion and one Leopard each.
- 3X2 Safari: Clients must share two Lions and two Leopards.
- 4X2 Safari: Clients must share two Lions and two Leopards.
Wildlife Department Regulations allow the hunting of the following species on a 21 day safari only. ORYX, GREATER and LESSER KUDU, ELAND, GERENUK, SABLE, OSTRICH, KLIPSPRINGER, HIPPOPOTAMUS, and ELEPHANT.
Note on Visas for Entry into Tanzania: Nationals of certain countries will need to obtain a visa for entry into Tanzania. Advise should be obtained from the Tanzania Embassy in your country prior to your safari dates. In cases where there is no Embassy, please consult us so that we may assist but please do this in good time. Nationals of the European Union can also obtain their visas upon entry into Tanzania.
